2-of-3 multisig
Domestic Monero settles trades with 2-of-3 multisig — the same settlement principle as Haveno, on a faster Telegram path. Staked XMR for an active trade sits at a Multisig Trade Wallet address shown in the app.
Settlement uses a 2-of-3 threshold: trade state + the requesting party’s Authorization Credentials (trade share) + coordinated settlement. No single party — including the platform — moves funds alone. Public framing: non-custodial in that trade-share / 2-of-3 sense — not chat “escrow admin” custody.
Movement of staked XMR requires:
- The trade in the right state
- The requesting party’s Authorization Credentials (the user-facing name is trade share)
- Coordinated settlement

Trade share
Issued when the trade is created. First open:
- “Save your trade share”
- “You need this trade share to receive or refund XMR. The app will not show it again after you agree.”
- “Without this trade share you cannot withdraw or refund. Copy it and store it securely.”
Later: “Your trade share” / “Keep this share private…”. Lost: “Lost your trade share? Resend it via Telegram.”
You submit your own share at the matching chip. You do not need the counterparty’s share or a chat. You cannot tap Receive XMR from any state and expect XMR to move. The seller never taps Receive XMR for the buyer.
OpenPGP is optional and is not chat. It can encrypt Telegram notifications and sensitive trade materials (including share delivery) to your public key: “Sensitive trade details are sent as a PGP message only you can decrypt.”
Never paste a trade share, seed, private key, or OpenPGP passphrase into unofficial chats.
