M. kept a spreadsheet with a date in the header and a number that was supposed to go up every month. It did, for a while. Then the local currency wobbled, the bank added another “temporary” fee, and the emigration lawyer sent an invoice that had to be paid in something other than what M. earned at work. None of that was about cryptocurrency. It was about leaving.
