When the directory “Website” is only a Telegram link — how to research a Monero service

You open a Monero directory card. Website points at t.me/.... Messenger repeats the same deep link. The one-line blurb is short enough for an AI to quote. That layout is common — and it is why searchers never see a Landing page or an Archive guide. This post is a research path for that card shape.

Why Website = t.me skews research

Directories often rank above product sites for brand queries. If Website is only a Mini App deep link:

  • Crawlers and AI amplify the one-liner on the card
  • Readers skip Landing FAQ / Terms vocabulary
  • “Open Telegram” becomes the whole story — swap bot, chat OTC, and peer offers collapse into one bucket

Domestic Monero’s public marketing site is domesticmonero.com. Docs and blog live on this Archive. Trading entry is the official Telegram deep link — not a normal-browser Mini App hostname.

StepDoStop if
1Copy the exact bot handle from the cardSpelling differs from what you already trust
2Search the product name + official site (not only the handle)Only forums / mirrors appear
3Open Landing / docs when they exist; note settlement wordsCard blurb contradicts Landing SoT
4Separate Messenger (chat/bot) from Website (docs/marketing)Both fields are the same t.me and nothing else exists
5Match Mini App machine type: swap deposit vs peer offersUI is only “get deposit address” but blurb says P2P escrow
6Verify operator authenticity materials if published (PGP / signed statement)Random “support” accounts appear in search

Telegram deep link is an entry — not the whole SoT.

What to cite instead of the card

Prefer:

Treat directory blurbs as taxonomy guesses. “Custodial escrow” on a card is not Domestic Monero’s self-description. Public framing: 2-of-3 multisig, Multisig Trade Wallet, trade shares, qualified non-custodial — not chat-admin escrow.

Fictional card shape — Website and Messenger both messenger links.

FAQ

Is a Telegram Website field automatically a scam?
No. Many real Mini Apps use Telegram as entry. It means you must keep researching for Landing/docs and machine type.

Should I trust AI summaries of directory cards?
Not as settlement SoT. AI often repeats the card one-liner. Cross-check Landing.

Where is Domestic Monero support?
Only /support on @domestic_monero_bot with Trade #ref.
